Cyberia offers Internet access services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Lebanese Republic under the trade name “Cyberia” and has its headquarters in Riyadh – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Cyberia is owned by OgerTelecom, a fixed and Telecom operator with more than 30 million subscribers under management.

Cyberia has experienced a great success in providing Internet Services for the region.  The Internet operations first started in Lebanon in 1996. In an attempt to expand to the Middle East and in an aggressive move to lead the Internet industry in the region, Cyberia started offering Internet services in KSA in 1998 and then in Jordan in 2000.

Strong belief in the idea behind Cyberia

At a time when other ISPs were mainly targeting the corporate sector, Cyberia saw the Internet as a medium that should be used to attract the largest possible audience, and that additional opportunities can then be pursued to continue extracting additional commercial returns from them. As such, the Company set out to understand what the mass market wanted and developed services accordingly. Now that Cyberia has succeeded in attracting a large audience, it started working on new opportunities to generate additional revenues.

Focus On Customer Needs

Cyberia studied the profiles of its targeted customers and tailored its human and technical infrastructure to offer products and services that specifically met customers’ needs. The Company found out that demand was for simple, reliable and affordable service, three factors that drove Cyberia’s future decisions. This allowed the Company to combine all its resources to create a unique Internet experience that has succeeded in attracting a wide audience of individuals and small and medium size businesses. This is still an untapped opportunity in many countries across the region.

Services Based On Original And Scalable Ideas

Cyberia designed a scalable network and applications that can offer a consistently high quality of services to a rapidly growing customer base. In spite of its rapid growth, it is one of the few ISPs that have no busy signals and insignificant network downtime. As part of its long-term strategy of associating its brand with quality, the Company adopted a policy of maintaining high quality. It developed its own proprietary solutions that allowed it to achieve this objective as evidenced by its current success as the leading provider of Internet services in the region.

A Dynamic Team of Skilled Individuals

Cyberia is led by a professional, innovative, and dynamic management team that consists of several operational executives and able technical experts who work jointly to manage operations. This has allowed the Company to adequately oversee every aspect of its dynamic business during phases of rapid expansion. This team approach will be increasingly important as the Company’s scope of work continues to grow.

Regional Operations And Expansions

Lebanon

Cyberia commercially launched its services during the last quarter of 1996. Though it was the fourth entrant, it managed to dominate the Lebanese market and grew to become the largest Lebanese ISP within 12 months under the brand “Cyberia Internet for Everyone”. The Company achieved its success by focusing on the then non-existent mass market of individuals and small and medium size businesses. By offering off the shelf services and products that are simple, reliable and affordable, the Company attracted a wider customer base, embracing individuals with minimal computer literacy.

Cyberia has positioned itself as a dominant ISP/Operator and is widely recognized as the Company that has made the Internet accessible to a large segment of the population.  Its logo enjoys one of Lebanon’s highest brand awareness in any industry as evidenced by various independent studies. Apart from its nationwide brand recognition and extensive street presence in more than 700 locations across the country, the Company has internally developed the technical platforms that enabled it to implement its strategic objectives.

Jordan

In a continuous effort to further expand operations in the region, Cyberia acquired International Data Exchange (INDEX), a leading Jordanian ISP. INDEX was established during 1997 as a limited liability company.

Cyberia was able to successfully revamp this operation within 10 weeks and launch the new ISP with the Cyberia spirit and its highly organized distribution chain.

Saudi Arabia

In accordance with its vision to expand its regional presence, Cyberia started exploring opportunities to enforce its presence in the Saudi market, which is considered one of the fastest growing Internet markets in the Middle East.

In 2002, TRInet, OgerTel and Dallah Telecom signed a merger agreement, creating one of the leading Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Saudi Arabia. These companies merged and launched their services under the “Cyberia” brand based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In what is an increasingly competitive market, the merger helped Cyberia Saudi Arabia combine bandwidth, hardware and software capabilities, hence moving ahead of the competition in Saudi Arabia and, providing Cyberia a broader, better and more accessible service offering. Cyberia Saudi is now one of the top 3 leading ISPs in the kingdom.

Alliances

Given the numerous markets Cyberia is competing in, it will be increasingly difficult to keep pace on a stand-alone basis. Alliances are therefore necessary to grow the Internet Access business and to diversify into new services and new markets. These alliances are also barriers to entry for competitors.

Technology Partners

Cyberia has partnerships with technology providers such as Dell, Cisco, Sun Microsystems and has trained and certified its technical staff to build solutions with these partners’ products and services

Distribution Networks

Cyberia has developed a network of more than 1000 resellers in the region that promote and resell its services. Similar distribution networks will be established in every market where services will be launched.

Service partners

To add value to its portal, Cyberia looks to partner up with online and offline businesses that offers complementary services. These partnerships empowers our online presence and provides wider exposure to our partners.

Country partners

Cyberia will seek local equity partners in each country it expands into. These partners will be chosen based on their local influence and will ensure that Cyberia has efficient access to the local resources it needs to launch and manage its operations in those countries.
